Dariusz Choinski
Jaktorow, Poland
Polish artist Dariusz Choinski portrays the natural beauty of the Mozovia region in his impressionist paintings. Residing in Jaktorow, a small town near Warsaw, he immerses himself in the outdoors, capturing inspiration with his camera and plein air gear. Taking meticulous notes on colors and values during his excursions, Dariusz employs these observations to enhance his studio works. He deliberately avoids direct photo replication in his creations. I always try to capture the emotions of the moment I witness, so I paint as a reaction to the actual feelings I am experiencing, says Dariusz. His home studio serves as a reflection of the intimate connection between his art and the town's beautiful landscapes. In his leisure time, he finds joy in music, fishing, and cherished moments with friends and family.

Artist Statement
Painting and drawing have been close to my heart since childhood. My paintings draw inspiration primarily from the beauty of Polish nature, particularly the landscapes of the Mazovia region. Nature serves as an endless wellspring of inspiration for me. Art has always been intertwined with my life. From childhood sketches to teenage ventures in graffiti and music, art has been a constant. However, the pivotal moment came in 2017 when I rediscovered my love for painting. Thanks to resources like the internet and books, I embarked on a journey of learning and growth. Discovering Bill Inmann's painting courses was particularly enlightening and remains a valuable resource for me. My studio, nestled in Jaktorow near Warsaw, doubles as my home. Though it's a modest space, I've managed to organize it to suit my needs. However, I foresee the need for expansion in the near future as my artistic journey progresses. I strive to seek inspiration outdoors whenever possible. Armed with my camera and plein air gear, I explore new places, capturing colors and values that later inform my studio works. While I use reference photos, I never aim to merely replicate them. Each of my paintings is a response to the emotions evoked by a moment witnessed. It often takes weeks to complete a piece, as I allow myself time to revisit and refine it.
