Lynn Goldstein
Fairfax Station, Virginia
Artist Lynn Goldstein paints expressive landscapes inspired by nature. Her style blends abstraction and expressionism to capture the essence of each scene. "I’m most captivated by the creative process and the emotions that arise as I work," says Lynn. Her journey began under the guidance of her mother, an artist herself, whose appreciation for Asian aesthetics still influences Lynn's work. Her studio, housed in a repurposed prison with high ceilings and abundant natural light, provides ample room for her projects and an eclectic soundtrack of K-pop, classical, R&B, and classic soul. In her free time, she finds inspiration through reading, hiking with friends, gallery visits, and travel.

Artist Statement
I'm most intrigued by the creative process and the emotions that arise as I work. A fascination with Italy’s weathered frescoes, peeling paint on walls, and natural textures inspired this shift in focus.
Growing up in mountain surroundings continually shapes my artistic direction. Even when I set out to paint an abstract, elements of landscape—mountains, trees, and reflections in water—inevitably emerge.
My tools are often unconventional for art-making, and my color choices are purely intuitive. Trowels, silicone bowl scrapers, sandpaper, and chisels help me create the textures I connect with most. There's a kind of magic in surrendering control over the outcome.
