Artist Statement

Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, and raised in various places, I've cultivated a profound passion for the act of creation and a deep appreciation for the ever-changing landscapes surrounding me. From my earliest memories of my grandparents' home on Cape Cod, where my grandmother maintained an art studio, I discovered the profound influence of environment and atmosphere on my creative impulses and emotions. Whether breathing in the salty sea air or the crisp mountain breeze, I immersed myself in the transformative power of the world around me. My artistic journey is a blend of these influences intertwined with a fascination for unexpected color harmonies. My work aims to capture a feeling of being in a particular moment rather than literally depicting a scene. Using my chosen tools, the palette knife and dry brush, I create dream-like abstract landscapes that resonate with viewers, leaving a lasting impact on the spaces they adorn, much like the places that inspired them.
