Srinivas Kathoju
Frisco, Texas
Artist Srinivas Kathoju creates vibrant expressionist landscapes that reflect the ever-changing colors of seasons and times of day. "Nature tremendously influences my work, fueling my lifelong love for art," says Srinivas. Using primarily oil paints, he layers textures with brushes, palette knives, and even old credit cards to depict expansive fields, mountains, and horizons. His compact home studio—a corner of his living room—is where he paints daily, accompanied by music, an essential part of his process. A full-time software engineer, Srinivas finds joy in interpreting nature’s beauty through bold, expressive compositions that blend impressionist softness with modernist structure, inviting viewers to explore the boundaries of the landscape. In his spare time, he enjoys being with family and friends.

Artist Statement
Nature has a tremendous influence on my work. I love painting abstract landscapes depicting vast fields, mountains, and horizons. I feel they give a sense of flexibility, freedom, and openness to an art lover, to which their imagination can be added while viewing the painting.
My work mainly involves building layers and imparting textural effects using different media. I use oil colors and love the creamy consistency of the paint and its forgiving quality, enabling me to blend and mix the colors. I paint on canvas and wooden panels of varied sizes.
I am fascinated by the works of Van Gogh, Monet, and Gerhard Ritcher. I draw great inspiration from their works.
My passion and love for nature and art made me an artist, and I will nurture this for the rest of my life.
