Yana Medow | Artist Profile Photo
Yana Medow
Madrid, Spain
Artist Yana Medow creates striking portrayals of feminine characters, using exaggerated features to explore inner contradictions, complexities, and imperfections. "With simple lines, I express the plasticity of the human body," says Yana. She has been passionate about drawing since childhood, never parting with pencil and paper as she created entire worlds in her creations. Yana's skills developed over time, and she realized that creativity was the only path she wanted to follow. She listens to classical literature audiobooks while painting in her plant-filled studio in central Madrid. Outside of art, Yana enjoys walking in parks, observing birds and people, and jotting down observations about everyday life in the city.

Artist Statement

I'm a Spanish artist passionate about capturing the essence of the human body through my art.

My work is driven by a deep fascination with the charm of femininity and a love for lines and black-and-white drawing. Through my art, I aim to remind you of the aliveness and vibrancy of sensory life that we often take for granted.

I believe the human form is a canvas of emotions and stories, and I strive to capture that in my work. Join me on a journey through my drawings and let the lines and shadows evoke a sense of wonder within you.
