About this artwork

In some ways, this is an homage to Monet's Impression: Sunrise. I tried to take an effect (fog) which is adversarial to color and then infuse the work with color in spite of it. The palette remains almost totally cool (blues, greens, purples) and the brushwork is fleeting and atmospheric, like the weather it's emulating. The sides are painted brown, and the work comes wired and ready to hang.
