About this artwork

An expressionistic portrayal of the rich lavender fields of Provence, France by artist Janet Dyer. Rows of these fragrant flowers fill the expanse of land in the foreground, drawing the eyes towards the foot of a slope. A divide of trees and grass cut between the fields as blocks of emerald and amethyst hues expand to farther mountains. I love the ranges of purple in the lavender fields, especially contrasted against the complementary yellows.
