About this artwork
With this painting, Ronda returned to the same composition as her piece A Landscape's Plan, however, she mirrored the scene to study the changing lighting conditions. As the sun moved in the sky, the deep greens turned emerald, moving closer to the turquoise and grey in the water and sky. Ronda leaves it to the viewer to decide whether we are witnessing a sunrise or a sunset in these two pieces. A painting done in a painterly style gives us room for imagination, says Ronda of this highly abstracted scene.
