About this artwork

I wanted to create a composition with dominate cool colors. It was exciting to explore the realism of cooler flesh tones with a blue undertone. I introduced more surrounding area than I normally do, creating a larger environment and framing the model. Contrasting the foreground heavy paint texture with the smoother controlled skin creates an added dimension to the piece. The piece is oil on canvas with the edges finished with a white texture paint and is ready to hang.
