About this artwork

When artist Onelio Marrero attended a wedding reception, he observed the preparations unfolding in bright sunlight beneath a portico. He captured the quiet activity of caterers at work, setting tables and arranging linens as a light breeze moved through the space. In the painting, the viewer can almost feel the wind as staff members smooth and spread the fabric. The movement of the cloth, caught in the breeze, is rendered alongside the warm light of the garden in the background.
