About this artwork

This is a painting inspired by Dyer Cove at Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Heavy fog is seen on the horizon as churning waves batter the rocks in the foreground. A gray-blue sky seems to join with the ocean waves as the water approaches a small bit of sandy beach to the right. Rocks are multicolored in faded magenta, deep viridian, burnt umber, navy blue. Sea grasses are suggested by muted greens. This was painted completely with a palette knife and has a medium visible impasto creating visual texture.
