About this artwork

Kayaking the coastal marshlands of North Carolina’s barrier islands is an enjoyable activity for artist Nancy Hughes Miller. The many creeks and inlet streams provide inspiring vistas that she paints improvising with color and light. “I want my paintings to convey the tranquil mood I feel while navigating the marsh. Late day becomes especially beautiful as the sun casts subtle color on the clouds,” says Nancy.
