About this artwork

In this painting, artist Kristen Brown paints an ethereal translucent shape of a pregnant woman standing at a window. Overlapping nature imagery merges with the figure, evoking a sense of growth, says Kristen. Plant matter and tree branches fill in the silhouette and in places come to resemble facial features, veins, and stretching, obscuring the boundary between the images.
