About this artwork

Blooming flowers fill the vase evoking a sense of abundance despite its small stature. Artist Valerie Berkely presents the abstract floral using a limited palette of transparent purple and yellow tones. She demonstrates expressive finger painting by feeling the soft, velvety surface she specially prepares. I relied on a dry application of oil paint that feels more like a pastel, says Valerie.
