About this artwork

I was staying in an Airstream trailer looking for caravans to photograph and paint, and found this empty tent canopy. It glowed against the landscape in the moonlight and seemed to hold the promise of magical events. Moonlight Tent has been varnished for a satin finish, but still has some texture. The edges are gessoed in black. The way the canvas was made, the ends folding around the back can be seen from the side.
