About this artwork

An impressionistic landscape of a road leading to the red hills of Sedona. Cold wax medium and silicon paint spatulas (no brushes!) results in loose handling of the paint surface and energetic slashes through broken color. Dynamic clouds float in a sky of warm cerulean blue at the horizon and cool ultramarine above, providing complimentary contrast with the red and orange of the hills. The green vegetation is loosely suggested with darks and highlights,casting ephemeral shadows on the road.
