About this artwork

Artist Mitchell Freifeld paints a glimpse of Shari's diner showing empty seats. I went inside and it was that specific quiet time when lunch was a distant memory and dinner was a way off, says Mitchell. The scene captures that quiet gap when no one is around and everything is cleaned, ready for the next act. I looked to the streaming orange light for a clue, says Mitchell. It was that time in the road trip as well, between somewhere and somewhere else.
