About this artwork

I was inspired by the music of Chopin and the marriage of textures juxtaposed with the figure, shares artist Ryan Pickart. A delicate portrait of a sleeping girl on a bed of dreamy patterns in tonal gray. A bouquet of orchids and peonies in shades of purple provides a stimulating narrative. The painting explores a modern balance of prints and flowers. The girl's pose embraces the flowers while in the twilight stage of sleep, explains Ryan.
