About this artwork

Having completed several small studies recalling a summertime trip to Big Sur, the artist's mind kept returning to the tiny, jewel-like bay beneath McWay Falls. This painting expands upon an earlier work as Jesse investigates, in more detail, the texture and color of the cold coast. There, in spite of heavy, blowing fog, the water roiled in teal and cerulean waves that flowed together, gleaming through the mist.
