About this artwork
Created in conjunction with “The Dressing Table”, this piece also seems to be on the one hand conforming to idealized standards of beauty - strict almost photorealistic rendering of a swimsuit model. All is swiftly undermined by loose, dripping shards of turquoise paint that threaten to ruin this perfection. Malia has recently been looking at the work of Costa Dvorezky and his unique forms of dripping paint, which is also so integral to his style of work.
