About this artwork

This schoolhouse painting scene was inspired from the little country schoolhouses, that once dotted the countryside of the rural U.S., and the well known nursery rhyme, Mary Had a Little Lamb, that I heard as a child. The little girl in the painting is from my imagination, and pops into my landscape paintings, every so often. I paint in a series of many layers, to create my original, country landscape paintings. The gallery wrapped, edges of this 3/4 inch deep, stretched canvas are painted to match, and this piece comes wired and ready to hang!
