About this artwork

The Crescent Hotel, built in 1938, is one of the famous Art Deco buildings in Miami's South Beach, shares artist John Jaster. He pictures the historical architecture in bright hues, memorably capturing the era. The building stands charmingly with light blue, yellow, and green pastel colors, continuous rounded corners, ribbed columns, and the famous neon crescent sign. John credits the architect Henry Hohauser, who built several iconic hotels that give Miami Beach its art deco flair.
