About this artwork
Artist Joey Korom creates a collaged abstract with elements of cardboard and fabric. He slathers the paint like butter onto the canvas to create a thick impasto. Spontaneous strokes with brush and palette knife add a serendipitous element to the whole composition. The blue cardboard rectangle visually commands the whole artwork. Its smooth surface is centrally positioned and provides a foil to the gray layered paint, says Joey.
