About this artwork

Minimalist and abstract styles meet in artist Roman Antopolsky's gestural piece. Two asymmetric sections raise the tension in the composition. He displays expressively painted colors on the left and muted articulate strokes on the right. If this were a horizontal hourglass, the viewer's eye would go first to the neck and then notice that what had passed from one side to the other is not the same anymore, but a translation of sorts, says Roman.
