About this artwork
Artist Ian Hargrove captures abstract fractals in expressive displays of color. He paints tight brush strokes on a sky blue and ochre background that diffuse at the bottom of the composition. With no obvious link to the work, the name comes from the illustration on the first page of the book I bought on Greek mythology, shares Ian. He creates a parallel between the literature and the first painting of his series revolving around mythology and magic.
