About this artwork

The challenge of this painting is to present a winter sun hidden behind an overcast sky. The artist shows the sun's struggle to break through the clouds. This strange wintry sun casts an eerie light over a broken tree and snow-covered brush. The title comes from Native American culture -- February is the Hunger Moon.
